Beginner Marksman Course (Next Course TBD)
This curriculum is an 8-hour course designed for newer shooters who have either just begun their journey as a marksman or who have limited experience behind a scoped rifle. The content can be beneficial training for target shooters and hunters alike.
Whether you're looking for a basic understanding of scoped rifles or you want to hone your fundamentals before moving on to more advanced techniques, this course will establish a solid foundation for students to build upon.
The beginner course discusses individual weapon selection, setup and fitment to the shooter, ammunition selection, and considerations when selecting an optic.
During the course, instruction will concentrate on:
Firearms safety
Target and Range safety
Loading procedures
Scope use and maintenance
Shot routine
Data On Previous Engagements (DOPE)
Data tracking
Weapon maintenance
Required Equipment:
Scoped rifle
Semi-auto or bolt action
Scope must be mounted
Caliber must be between .223 and .308
Bipod or front rest
Rear shooting bag
Eye and Ear protection
100 rounds of quality ammunition
Ammunition of the same lot number preferred
Note taking materials
Optional Equipment
Shooting mat
Adjustable sling
Rifle case/bag
Cleaning equipment
Hat and/or attire for inclement weather
